Mr. Wong is skilled in multiple professional fields, including piano performance, music education, competition, and the music industry. He not only performs solo and ensemble concerts around the world, but also collaborates regularly with conductors, orchestras, and chamber groups. Additionally, he is passionate about educating future musicians, his rigorous and meticulous teaching methods have helped his students win prizes in major competitions. He founded the Prestige Music Academy in 2022 to pass on his rigorous and comprehensive teaching philosophy. He is also the founder of HKCS Hong Kong Cultural Studio and Schönestein Musik, providing high-quality music venues and recording services for music lovers and assisting young musicians to showcase their talents through competitions and music production programs.
Harry's early performance career took him to the United States, Austria, Australia, and Hong Kong, where he became known for his excellent technique, rich and profound interpretation as well as colorful timbre. After winning the piano concerto competition in Sydney, Harry was immediately invited by Eduardo Diazmuñoz, a famous American conductor and student of the legendary conductor Leonard Bernstein, to perform Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the local orchestra in 2018. Both concerts were sold out and received high praise. Upon returning to Hong Kong, Harry actively engaged in performing and music education, and his contributions were highly recognized by the sociedy. In addition to his active participation in various performances, in 2019, he was also invited by the Polish Consulate General in Hong Kong and Kocham Polske HK to serve as a music lecturer at the Hong Kong Polish Cultural Festival, introducing Chopin's musical footsteps.
Harry graduated from the prestigious Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts' music school, majoring in piano performance and studying under Hong Kong renowned pianists Raymond Young and Nancy Loo. He has also received guidance from famous teachers such as Gabriel Kwok, Colleen Lee, Hui Ling, and Julie Kuok in his piano studies. In conducting, he studied under Sharon Choa, Carmen Koon and Alan Cumberland, and also received master classes from conductors Richard Pontzious and James Judd. For composition, he studied with Pang Chun-kit. Harry's achievements at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts were highly recognized,and he was the sole recipient of the 2015/16 Molly McAulay Memorial Scholarship, a full scholarship award. He then pursued a Master's degree in music at the University of Sydney, Australia, studying under the famous Australian pianist Clemens Leske.
Harry's piano performances have been highly recognized in Sydney. In addition to being invited to perform concertos, he has also been invited by the Sydney Steinway Gallery to perform solo and collaborate with various local chamber and orchestras At the same time, Harry has also formed a chamber trio with local clarinetist and violinist performing compositions by Khachaturian, Milhaud, and Beethoven.
Harry has won several competitions, including the first prize of the 2017 Sydney University Piano Concerto Competition; second prize in “Liszt Memorial prize” Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition 2016 (AAF certificated competition); 2015 Austrian Chinese Youth Piano Competition and 2014 Asian Youth Piano Open Championship.
During his studies in Hong Kong, Harry received scholarships to perform in the United States and Vienna, and received guidance from various renowned teachers. While studying, Mr. Wong also participated in many master classes, studying with piano masters such as Rebecca Penneys, Ingo Dannhorn, Christopher Harding, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Roland Batik, Manfred Fock, Tamas Ungar, and Ralf Heiber.
